I love teaching, performing, and sharing the joy of music with others. Teaching music has always been a passion of mine. Whether it’s with my youngest students, using percussion instruments to teach rhythm or with my older students discussing more complex musical concepts, I find joy in teaching. I take an active approach to my teaching making sure that the student is always engaged, bringing different teaching tools each week to teach a wide range of concepts. Through this approach, I’m able to teach a broad range of instruments (voice/singing, cello, piano, violin, and ukulele) in a variety of styles including Broadway, Classical, and Pop.

Teaching has always been a part of my life. From an early age, I observed the piano lessons that both my mother and grandmother taught. (I’m a third generation music teacher in my family.) They showed me the ropes, giving me a solid teaching foundation. From that foundation I built my own individual style of teaching and am always finding new ways to keep my lessons unique and fun. I truly enjoy working with both parents and children, and I love teaching music!

When I’m not teaching you can find singing and playing around the nation’s capital. Previous performances include Aida and Eugene Onegin with the Washington National Opera, Mikado with Victoria Lyric Opera, and weekly performances with New York Avenue Presbyterian. I have my Masters of Music from George Mason University in Vocal Performance and my Bachelors of Music from Utah State in Vocal and Cello Performance. 

Outside of performing and teaching, I love spending time with my two boys in our garden, growing lots of delicious vegetables.
